The Girl with the Mousy Hair

EDIT –
Please ignore everything about site plans after the asterisks. So that thing with Ry doesn’t appear to be happening either. At this point, I’ve pretty much given up on the idea of updating this. It was good while it lasted and then it was crap. I’ll archive all of the images and posts somewhere, but I honestly don’t know if there is a point in maintaining this domain anymore. All it does is cost me money I don’t have to spare and it is due to lapse at the end of March. I may not renew it and at that point, you’d probably be best heading over to my other site if you want to know where the archived stuff is. I apologize for the repeated false restarts, but while my will to continue is still around, there just doesn’t seem to be anyone willing to work on it with me.

If someone wants to volunteer their services before the end of March and can guarantee consistency, leave a comment with a valid email address and I’ll get with you. It might be interesting to try this with someone who has drawing experience. I’ll split any ad revenue with you (at the moment, non-existent) and you would have input into the writing process as well. Anyway, that’s it. If it doesn’t happen, thanks for coming around and reading the comics for as long as it lasted.

Hello, HandRooster readers. I know it’s been a while. What you’re seeing here is just something strange I did last night after listening to some David Bowie, but I do have some interesting news related to the sight. After a long period of trying to make things work with either myself or Steph as the illustrator of HandRooster, we finally admitted to ourselves that Steph is just too busy and I’m just not very good. Maybe I could be with time and effort, but I get too disappointed with my own efforts. I’ll probably still draw on the side and occasionally post things here, but the real news is that we have a new HandRooster Illustrator.

His name is Ry and not only will he be drawing the comic, he’ll also be involved with the writing process as well. Ry is a good friend of mine and while he isn’t an experienced illustrator or anything, he’s going to give it his best try. He has a tendency to jump into the things he does with both feet, as they say. Hopefully this will mean that his effort and improvement will do great things for both him and the comic. Since Ry accepted the responsibility of drawing the comic, we’ve been collaborating via Google Wave and IM clients and have come up with lots of interesting ideas, so I have high hopes for the future.

At the moment, he’s waiting for some supplies and we’re still getting our act together, but I should think that there will be some comics out before too long. Perhaps the first one will be our Christmas present to you. Until then, you can just stare at this strange thing I’ve created. Maybe I’ll do more of those as I get time.
