WHy Halloween Parties Are A Great Alternative To Trick Or Treating at Halloween

Trick or Treating is a long established tradition at Halloween but not all parents are comfortable with their children taking part. Not everyone is ready for their young children to go off without adult supervision and knock on strangers doors. Luckily there are plenty of alternatives for Halloween this year which will still ensure they have a fantastic time.

#1 Throw Your Very Own Party For Halloween
This is a great idea for parents who don’t like the idea of their kids going off unsupervised for trick or treating. If you host your ow oarty you know where your kids are at all times and you can keep an eye on them. It is also an opportunity to have a fatastic time this Halloween – who doesn’t love their very own party. Food, decorations and sending out invitations are all part of the buildup to a great night but why not do something that is becoming ever more popular these days and throw a costume party. Many people dress in a Hansel Costume , Shaggy Costumeor even a Curious George Costume for their themed Halloween party and kids really love dressing as their favourite movie character. The adults will also enjoy the party and so everyone benefits.

#2 Visit a Costume Parade:
Most small towns, and malls in bigger towns, host costume parades and events during Halloween. These are family friendly gatherings and who knows, your child might even win a prize if they are robed in a great costume. There will often be candy and other surprises for the children and you will be able to enjoy the excitement in the knowledge that they are safe and happy and that you can keep an eye on them.

#3 Turn your House Into a Haunted Palace:
This one is especially great for people who live in larger houses. You can decorate one section of the house with creepy decorations such as spider webs and other ghoulish delights and download some spooky music onto your mp3. Make up a scary Halloween tale about ghosts and goblins and pretend you can hear a ghost in the section of the house you have decorated. This can be great fun for older children as they go to investigate and scare of the ghost. You can go with them to provide some protection and even tell them that garlic will ward off the evil spirits and protect them from harm.

As you can see from my tips, you do not have to let your children visit strangers houses this Halloween. You can give them just as much fun and excitement by hosting a party, going to a costume parade or making your house into a haunted castle.

Have fun this Halloween!
